1. Keep IC posts out of OOC areas, and vice versa, except for contests or Shifty Trader interaction.
2. When making IC posts, no modern cursing should ever occur.
3. In-character actions mean in-character consequences. That's where half the fun originates! But it is a good idea to ask first.
4. No god-moding. Playing the actions of another person's character, putting words in their mouth, or making your character flawless. When in doubt, ask.
5. Keep it PG-13, as required by the Proboards TOS. There may be a locked forum for +18 members at some point, if they really want to go there, but we still need to keep it a tasteful PG-13.
6. Characters must be approved before you may begin roleplaying them. (Before posting any character sheet, to prove that you have read these rules, copy and paste the following at the very bottom: "Moo.")
7. Threads that have been stale (with no new replies) for more than two calendar month may be locked.
8. We require players to be fairly literate. "Occasinial erorsr aer fien, but nto if we cna't reda it esaliy."
9. No one-line responses. If you're having trouble coming up with something, think about what your character is wearing, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, thinking, or feeling. What facial expression are they making? What does their voice sound like as they speak?
10. Temporary characters (doomed, tragic, or experimental ones) don't count toward your actual character limit, but they are 75% likely to die off if they aren't made permanent within a month or two of being played. As such, we ask that "temporary" tagged candidates not be created. "Temporary" rankers on a case-by-case basis only.
11. Characters should interact with each other, not just the environment, though we enjoy reading one-shot pieces too.
12. Follow these guidelines for tagging posts when you can remember to:
*Open* means anyone can join.
*Name / name / name* means only the persons named may join.
*Name / open* means the first response goes to the tagged person; then others may join.
13. If the rules are updated or changed at any time, it will be broadcast as part of the news. We won't keep you in the dark.
*NEW* 14. NPCs may be created - and auto-piloted - by anyone, but please don't abuse the privilege. If borrowing an NPC from the list, try to stay in-character. ;D
