Temporary characters (doomed, tragic, or experimental ones) don't count toward your actual character limit, but they are 75% likely to die off if they aren't made permanent within a month or two of being played. As such, we ask that "temporary" tagged candidates not be created. "Temporary" rankers on a case-by-case basis only.
No unnatural physical characteristics (green skin, fangs, orange eyes) in humans. Any normal color combinations are okay.

Men have never ridden gold before, and even if they are transgendered, it is likely to remain that way. The Pernese don't understand transgendered individuals and would never permit a male to even come near a suspected queen egg. That doesn't mean such an Impression would never happen, but it would have to be a very particular set of circumstances- and a very insistent gold hatchling- to bring it about. OOCly, it would definitely be the result of a contest, the same as the planned female bronzerider will be.
Books and literacy are common in our canon, and important information no longer relies on human Runners except in rural areas. Firelizards are much faster. As a result, matters that impact all of Pern - like the Weyrs' Lost Turn - are well-known virtually everywhere.
