Brewing trouble

This isn't so much an official plot sign-up thread, more of a plea for help. XD I am so overrun with NPCs I don't know whether I'm coming or going, and these last two days I've barely managed to post from being just slightly overwhelmed. Part of it is due to RL hitting the fan at the same time.

Sooo, during the Hatching, I was trying to establish the concept of malcontents, people who for whatever reason can't or won't accept the two odd-colored hatchlings. Some of them intend to "do something about it."

I want to work that dissention into an open plot thread for the next timeframe shift (which is coming very soon BTW) - at the very least. I've been a bit short on time though, so I haven't been able to brainstorm the concept sufficiently. That's where I could use a bit of help.

I thought maybe at first the more outspoken of the troublemakers would try to use politics to get the two oddities exterminated. Failing that, to at least try to get them expelled from the Weyr. Possibly even to resort to underhanded acts.

I'm requesting opinions, comments, input on the issue, looking for inspiration, basically anything you guys want to share would be helpful. ;D

I was already working on a harper character who gets assigned after the hatching, and is being blackmailed into sending information to someone. would that be useful to you?

It definitely would. I haven't done much with Jimbel (a Lemos Hold NPC, son of the NPC master stonesmith) - and neither has anyone else - so I'd like to work him in; perhaps as a go-between.

N'rak would certainly be involved with everyone on this matter. Worst yet is that a small part of him agrees with them, although he's trying to be as forward-thinking as he can about it. I already kinda figured that he talked to quite a few of them.

I could try my hand at playing one, but I tend to struggle with a lot of characters (I usually stick to one!) and "bad" characters, so I may need to give this person up. Otherwise, I'd love to help!

J'lin's attitude is just please don't put them in our wing, at least not at first. Sort of, keep them riding messages until we know their limits. and he will be really cautious about saying we know their limits. But he doesn't want anything bad to happen to them.

All right: if anyone wants to create or run an NPC specifically to hate on the atypicals, feel free- there'll be a thread opening for them soon. Be thinking about ways that the purists might try to destroy them.

This is related to Kadia phasing out as the senior weyrwoman, by the way. Plot device? Absolutely!
